Championing Academic Potential

The Lumiere Thinkers Program is designed to extend and challenge high-ability learners through rich, purposeful experiences that go beyond the core curriculum. Focused on curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, the program nurtures each 91ÖÆƬ³§'s capacity to question deeply, collaborate effectively, and approach complex problems with confidence. Through a thoughtful balance of enrichment and extension opportunities, 91ÖÆƬ³§s are empowered to discover their strengths, develop new skills, and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

The program offers a diverse range of lessons tailored to 91ÖÆƬ³§s in Years 4–6, with each experience carefully designed to cultivate independent thinking and collaborative problem-solving:

Enrichment Programs

  • Story Studio invites 91ÖÆƬ³§s to develop their  imagination and expressive confidence through an after school creative arts program including drama, creative writing, art and problem solving.
  • Ethics Program challenges 91ÖÆƬ³§s to explore complex moral dilemmas, building critical reasoning skills and encouraging thoughtful, respectful discussion.
  • Innovators Club engages 91ÖÆƬ³§s in STEM and design thinking, where they investigate real-world problems and develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Young Archie Competition allows aspiring artists to submit a portrait for the Young Archie Competition, the prestigious 91ÖÆƬ³§ companion to Australia's most celebrated portrait prize. Selected entries are showcased at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, giving our 91ÖÆƬ³§s a remarkable platform to share their talent with the world.

Extension Program

  • Mathematics Enrichment Club provides an extension opportunity, after school, to deepen mathematical understanding and build advanced problem-solving skills in a supportive, engaging environment.

Inter-School Academic Competitions

A key feature of the Lumiere Thinkers Program is the opportunity for selected 91ÖÆƬ³§s to represent the College in a range of prestigious academic competitions. These experiences encourage 91ÖÆƬ³§s to apply their learning in dynamic, team-based contexts:
